Eleven Select Medical Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospitals Rank Among Nation’s Best Physical Rehab Centers by Newsweek

MECHANICSBURG, PA, August 21, 2024 — Select Medical today announced that 11 of its inpatient rehabilitation hospitals in 20 locations have been named to Newsweek’s 2024 list of America’s Best Physical Rehab Centers.

“We're proud that our rehabilitation hospitals are listed among the top in the Newsweek rankings, including several that have been recognized over multiple years,” said Tom Mullin, president of Select Medical. “This reflects the hard work of our care teams who continually strive for clinical excellence and exceptional positive patient outcomes.”

Newsweek’s rankings are made on a state and regional basis. The 25 states with the most facilities were awarded individually and the remaining states were grouped into four regions: Northeast, Midwest, West and South.

The annual Best Physical Rehabilitation Centers rankings, now in its fifth edition, awards the top 300 inpatient facilities, based on four pillars: quality metrics data published by the U.S. Centers for Medicare & Medicaid CMS); a national online survey conducted from April to May 2024 among experts with knowledge of physical rehabilitation centers; accreditation data provided by the Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities (CARF) and the Model Systems Knowledge Translation Center (MSKTC); and Google reviews as a proxy for patient satisfaction.
